Most of my weekend was fairly uneventful, but I did see an opera on Friday night with my parents called “Phaedra”. I hadn’t been to an opera since 8th grade I believe, so it was nice to see one again. It was sung entirely in German (with subtitles of course) but the story revolved around characters from Greek mythology. All in all, it was a good time. I need to make a conscious effort to see more shows, or at least look into seeing them. I just wish the prices weren’t so high. I love musicals but can rarely see them unless they are a school production.
On Saturday we went grocery shopping (exciting!) and I don’t think I did much of anything else. Yesterday I went to the gym, and I was actually able to jog for a pretty good length of time (for me, that would be a few minutes) without my stomach feeling like it was going to rip apart (which is what usually happens), so that was good. I spent the remainder of the day cleaning the apartment like a mad woman. I tried to clean our little area rugs in the washer, and while they survived intact, my little white one is now this ugly light brown color due to the fact that I didn’t wash it separately from the dark brown rug. =/ Sometimes common sense is not my forte. Luckily, we had a back-up of the white rug because we originally purchased it as a two-pack. By the end of the day, I was physically exhausted and I still am today. My body did not want to get out of bed this morning and is a bit achy.
I’ve been into smoothies lately. I’ve been having them for breakfast off and on and I didn’t think they would actually fill me up, but surprisingly they did (for at least the normal amount of time my breakfasts usually do). The particular smoothie I like is a variety of the “Green Monster” (rawr!). I do 1-2 handfuls of spinach, 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, and 1 1/2 cup of almond milk. Its really yummy and the best part is you don’t even taste the spinach…although it is a green color, but besides that you wouldn’t know it was in there. My problem seems to be that I use a lot of milk (because I don’t like them super thick) which makes more of it and its way too much to fit into my travel cup and I end up wasting a good portion of it. hmm.
I discovered this cool site called Heartsy that’s kind of like Groupon except for Etsy shops. Lets just say that over the weekend I bought 2 vouchers good for a combined total of $51 worth of bath and body products…and I paid a whopping $10 out of my own pocket. Crazy! Although this does not bode well for my addiction to bath and body products (I have wayy too much stuff), it got me thinking that I should maybe do a giveaway on my beauty blog. Although I barely have any readers, so I feel like there wouldn’t be enough participants. Of course, it could also be a way to boost readership so maybe there would be an advantage to it. Let me know your thoughts!
That’s all I have for now…lata.
I’ve only been using this baby for about a week, but I just had to do a review. Its that amazing! I know a lot of people already use this, since it is pretty infamous for being one of the best top coats out there…but I had yet to try it until last weekend…. read the rest

Re: Giveaways – If you have the stock to spare you might as well give it a go! Just think of it as a marketing experiment. If you decide to run it, promotion is the key!

I LOVE Greek mythology AND the German language. That play sounds absolutely perfect!

I’ve never been to an opera. I don’t think they even have any here. But musicals are awesome. But they do cost too much. But I’ve never been to one that I didn’t enjoy so it’s so worth the money if you don’t go too often.
I think you should do a giveaway. If I knew about it I would definitely enter. I love trying to win stuff.
