Apparently more ice, snow, “wintry mixes”, and other such irritating precipitation is to be expected tomorrow morning. I shall have a lovely commute! X( I’m not even wishing for summer like a lot of people (I hate the heat more than the cold), I would just like stuff to stop falling from the sky, pretty please, so that I can possibly get to work in under an hour. It would also be nice to see how the actual ground around my new apartment looks, which I’ve been living in for over 2 weeks. Hopefully Punxsutawney Phil, in all his fluffy chubby cuteness, will predict an early Spring tomorrow.
Today begins February. Its hard to believe that we’re already into the second month of 2011. This is the first month where everything will be “settled” for me (i.e paying bills, finding a gym schedule, meal schedule, etc.) So far though, things have been quite good. I had a few of my friends over this Saturday evening. We went to Applebees for dinner and afterwards hung out at the apartment playing Apples to Apples for a while. There’s quite a lot of “apple” going on in that sentence, isn’t there?…if only I had been drinking 99 Apples (instead of 99 Bananas), it could have been apple-fied it even more. :p At any rate, good times were had, with the exception of our waiter at Applebees who appeared to be either terrible with simple directions, hate his life, or (more likely) some combination thereof. We got a free dessert out of it, though, so no worries.
I’ve been looking for simple (healthy) recipes to try lately. Emphasis on simple, since our 2-person weekly grocery bill is already pushing $100 which, to me, seems a bit high. Of course it doesn’t help when we (ahem, Shawn) do things like accidentally buying 3 bushels of bananas. Anyway, if you have any suggestions, leave them in the comments. 🙂

I hear you, it’s the height of summer down here and I can’t wait for it to be over. You can snuggle up and get comfy in the cold but you can’t shake the heat! 😳 And we get such horrible strong hot wind. I am ssooooo looking forward to autumn.
