Yup, I resubscribed to FabFitFun! I’m still maybe slightly on the fence about keeping the subscription, but I’m gonna give this a couple more boxes to see how I feel. They actually opened up customization to seasonal subscribers (instead of just annual) so that’s really cool…at least I’ll be able to choose a couple items in the box. Here’s what I got for Spring!
Show Me Your Mumu Brie Robe
I was a little worried about this robe because everyone was complaining that it was too small/short, but I’m swimming it it! I’d rather it be too big, so I have no problem with it at all and its super comfy and cute. I’ve used it a few times already and will definitely make use of it this summer! I don’t think its remotely close to being worth the $84 “retail value”, though…its just a simple cotton robe.
KORRES Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial
I just tried this out last night. I use a vitamin C serum everyday so my skin is fairly used to Vitamin C, however this burned a little on my face…not sure why. Under my mouth (which is super sensitive) also became a little red, but that calmed down after a few minutes. This is a nice thick cream that I could definitely feel was on my skin all night. It also has a very strong rose scent. I was worried about bad reactions to it considering the initial redness upon application, but it actually didn’t cause any further irritation. I’ll have to use it a few more times before I form an opinion on it though.
ETA: Sadly, I used this twice and I feel like my skin is just not a fan 🙁 I also realized it contains alcohol denat as one of the first few ingredients which is a big no no in skincare and could be what was making my skin flaky. Its a shame I’ll have to waste this.
Mystery Item: Free People x Understated Leather Starry Eyed Travel Eye Mask
I opted for a “mystery item” instead of the 2 other choices I was given which were measuring spoons (have way too many and they looked kind of cheap) and body lotion (also have too many). This item is pretty cool…I don’t have something like this so I’m glad I didn’t get some kind of makeup or skincare item that I already have a million of. Its definitely very cooling (especially if you put the removable gel pack in the fridge first) and feels very nice. I would say its better for waking up instead of sleeping though because of the coolness of the gel!
(Traded) Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Setting Powder
I traded this with another FabFitFun member in exchange for a jade roller, which I’ve been wanting for awhile. I had literally just purchased a new setting powder from Ulta so I really didn’t need another one, and I’m not a huge fan of loose powders. I’m sure this is great, though, and hopefully the person I traded with enjoys it!
Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub
There was a bit of an uproar about this product on the FabFitFun forums. Apparently it doesn’t actually contain charcoal but carbon black, which is one of those widely used but controversial cosmetic ingredients. I took my chances though and tried it out as I hate wasting things. I did actually really like it and it made my skin super soft so…I guess I’ll keep using it 🤷
OUAI Leave In Conditioner
Love the smell of this conditioner! It smells clean and kind of has that “just went to the salon” smell, if that makes sense. Its a pretty standard leave in conditioner so nothing super remarkable, but I like it and OUAI is a great haircare brand. It also didn’t weigh down my super fine hair or make it greasy which I was afraid of, so +1 for that!
dr. brandt skincare needles no more eye de-puffing gel
I just used this for the first time this morning! I got maybe 5 hours of sleep last night, so I for sure needed this today. It definitely smoothed out my undereye area immediately. I have to keep playing around with the application method though as it doesn’t play super nice with makeup/concealer. You’re supposed to use a very tiny amount and let it dry completely before applying anything over it. It was a bit patchy under my concealer, so it could be I didn’t let it dry long enough.
EleVen by Venus Jump Rope
Jump roping is a great workout, so I’m not too disappointed in this. However, I can pretty much only jump rope outside cause of low ceilings, and I feel like I may never do that. I’ll hold onto it for when we eventually buy a house and maybe have a bit more privacy in the backyard.
