October Birchbox Product Reviews

October 13, 2011 by Melanie

Here are some product reviews of samples that I received in this month’s Birchbox!

[amazon_link id=”B0032GU1EE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Make-up Primer, Bronze 2 oz (56 g)[/amazon_link] Laura Geller Spackle Under Make-up Primer in Bronze
As I mentioned previously, I was a little skeptical about this primer because it came in the “bronze” shade, and I prefer clear. However, it blended well with my skin tone and didn’t look unnatural at all. The formula (in comparison with other primers I’ve used) is a little thin. I would have preferred it to be a little thicker, as I find those formulas feel smoother on my skin. Still a great product though! Buy now at the Birchbox store ($25.00)

[amazon_link id=”B004HIBLNQ” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Orofluido Shine Spray 50ml[/amazon_link] Orofluido Beauty Elixir
I’ve used this product in my hair a couple times so far. It smells amazing…a very sweet vanilla scent. I’ve been keeping my hair curly the past week, so I can’t say how it does for straight hair. My hair seems a tiny bit less frizzy, but nothing really drastic that any other hair oil wouldn’t be able to provide. I don’t think I would pay the full price for this product (if it were ever offered for a steep discount, I might though!) Buy now at the Birchbox store ($29.99)

BeFine Lip Serum
I really like this lip serum. It feels very smooth on my lips and definitely adds shine to them. The only thing is the formula is fairly thin, so I wouldn’t really use this overnight or as a super moisturizing lip treatment (last month’s Jouer lip enhancer would be better for that). The size of this sample is generous, though, and I will continue to use it! Buy now at the Birchbox store ($25.00)

[amazon_link id=”B000W4JESS” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Delicates Wash by The Laundress[/amazon_link] EXTRA: The Laundress Delicate Wash
I used this to hand-wash a new sweater I just got a couple weeks ago from Express. This is the sweater, if you are interested (its super soft!) This detergent has a really lovely lavender scent to it, and as far as I could tell it was very gentle on my sweater, which dried without loosing any softness. I’m not sure if I would go ahead and purchase it, but I definitely liked it! Buy now at the Birchbox store ($19.00)

As you can see, I didn’t review the AHAVA cleanser that I got. I don’t really plan on using it because I want to stick to my current cleanser. I did hear it was nice, though!

My fav. thing in my oct birchbox would have to be the Ahava Mineral foot cream. I have really dry cracked heels and it works awesome!
