Already posted my August Birchbox, but now its time for some reviews now that I’ve tried out the products![amazon_link id=”B000WM54E8″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ][/amazon_link] [amazon_link id=”B000WM54E8″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]June Jacobs Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque[/amazon_link]
I tried this mask out last night. Its actually been awhile since I’ve used a face mask! I also tried the Clarisonic Mia for the first time, so I’m not sure if it was that or this mask, but my face was smooth and glowing after I was finished with both! This mask smells so yummy and fruity (exactly like papaya) and is easy to apply to your skin because it is a cream. What I found interesting was that after you leave it on for 10 minutes or so, it turns into a clear oil. It never really “dries” like a classic face mask would, but I noticed before I removed the mask, it looked like I had put an oil all over my face. Not sure if that’s a positive or a negative, but I didn’t mind it!

Tried out this hair gel last night as well. Its a nice consistency (not too thick and goopey, so its easy to distribute throughout your hair). I applied it when my hair was wet, and after it dried, I ended up with really pretty waves in my hair. I’m not sure how this holds up against heat and humidity, though, because I ended up straightening it in the morning (my waves never hold into the next day). I’d say this is a pretty good product, but not vastly different from other gels/serums that I’ve tried.

As I’ve mentioned before, I have really flaky skin around my nose and under my mouth, and exfoliators are supposed to help with that (which is what this essentially is since it contains glycolic acid, salicylic acid and phytic acid). And it really did help! My flakes have drastically gone down overnight since I used it. I’ve also been using philosophy’s “the afterglow” for this purpose (I’ll do a full review later), and I think I like that a little better since its a liquid and not a gel. This gel is definitely very cooling, though, and it will be perfect for travel!

I’ve used this primer a couple times already. I really like the way it goes on, but I wouldn’t say this product is very different from other primers that I’ve tried. I’ve always used Tarte’s Clean Slate primer, and this felt almost like that except the formula might have been a little bit thinner (which I prefer). My makeup went on smoothly and as far as I can tell, it helped it last throughout the day. I wouldn’t spend the money on this primer, though, when there are many alternative that are much cheaper and just as effective!
