Easter and Gardening Update

April 9, 2012 by Melanie

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter (if you celebrate it)! I’m not really religious, but its a good occasion to have some yummy food and candy =p Shawn was able to come home with me for the weekend, so that was great.

I had off on Friday and I spent most of the day freaking out because none of my websites were working, and neither was my host company’s website so there was no way I could contact them. They ended up being down for a total of twelve hours with no explanation! Needless to say between this and that incident from last year, I will be switching hosting companies by the end of the month. Despite the fact that I spent most of the day really annoyed, it was nice to have a vacation day. And speaking of vacations…Shawn and I are trying to plan one for September. We are thinking a cruise, but trying to find one that is the right price/days with good reviews is challenging. Hopefully we get something booked soon!

Before I left to go home on Saturday, I decided to check on my basil and tomato plants to see how they were doing. I had been checking them daily this past week and there was no progress, but on Saturday there were finally little sprouts! I was so excited. The tomato plant in the middle is actually growing really well. Hopefully they will continue growing and I will not inadvertently kill them somehow.

My beauty blog, Adorabeauty.net, has a new theme up…so if you’re interested go check that out! This week is my birthday week, even though I keep forgetting it is and still have to figure out plans for Saturday. So I’m not sure if I’ll have a new recipe up, but if I do it will be Chicken Tikka Masala 🙂

Oh and I’ve just started reading Game of Thrones…have any of you guys read the series? I’m really liking it so far. Reminds me of Lord of the Rings for some reason. Though there’s a million characters so keeping track of them is a challenge haha. The books are pretty long so it should give me something to read for awhile.

Hooray for your plants to start growing! My current apartment doesn’t have any good place near a window for us to grow anything. But we are moving again at the end of the month, so hopefully we will get to start growing some plants again. I am looking forward to it, even if they don’t make us food haha.

@Deanna yea my apartment is basically surrounded by trees so it was difficult to find an area with sunlight…that area ended up being on top of my fridge so kind of an inconvenient spot but it seems to work haha. Basil (and some other herbs I think) are supposed to be pretty easy to grow…all they need is sunlight and you can grow them indoors 🙂
