So I received this lip stain from a Stylemint purchase I made last month. The fact that it was included totally took me by surprise! Apparently, I had placed an order during a promotion they were having where they were giving away this product, and a couple beauty samples away with any order. I didn’t realize that at the time, so when I opened my package and found some free goodies I was super excited.
This lip stain is in the color “waltz” which is described as a “soft berry rose” on Sephora.com. Its much too bright for me, but then again I don’t really wear lip color! I thought I would try it out in order to review it for you guys, though.
The lip stain portion of this is interesting. It really is a magic marker, and it felt really weird to apply…like I was literally using a marker to color my lips. I’ve also discovered that my lips are apparently very ticklish, because they tickled like crazy when I was applying the stain! haha. Applying the color balm over the stain was definitely welcome since it gave my lips a nice smooth feeling that they were lacking with the dry stain. You can see the color of this on the left. Its definitely way too bright for me, personally, but it was fun to try on regardless! I am not sure if I will ever use it again, mostly because of the color but I also wasn’t a huge fan of the stain applicator which just felt very dry and weird to apply.

In other news, I’ve been thinking of having a blog sale…but I need some help/suggestions on how to go about it! If you guys were to purchase something from a blog sale (makeup, skincare, polish, etc), would you care if the items were slightly used, or how used they were? Are there certain things that if used (even if only used once) you would never purchase? For instance, I would love for someone else to have this lip stain since it is just not for me. Just trying to get a gist of the types of things I would be able to sell and what I should just toss. One thing I will definitely be doing is offering a “Birchbox” filled with samples that I have not used at all (some are from Birchbox, but most are collected from various places). It will be kind of like a surprise grab-bag…I feel like that would make it more fun? Right now I have about 15 samples (mostly foil samples) and 2 full sized products that are completely unopened/unused. Would you guys be interested in that, and how much do you think you’d be willing to buy it for? Let me know, and hopefully I can get a blog sale going sometime soon!

Thats cool they were giving away beauty products. I really like the color! As far a blog sale I know a lot of people don’t like buying cream makeup products but that’s about the only thing I’ve come across that people were not really into. Putting together samples in a BB sounds pretty cool it could be a hit and a quick way to move product.
