Nails of the Week: Zoya “Caitlin”

December 11, 2011 by Melanie

Its been so long since I’ve done a NOTW! I just haven’t had any new colors to show off lately. But luckily, I stumbled across Buzz Beauty’s blog sale and she was selling a color that I have been wanting for so long, which is Zoya Caitlin! The color is a blue/purple cream finish. Its actually a lot more purple than I originally thought, but is still super pretty! Base coat is Zoya Get Even and top coat is Seche Vite. I really love Zoya’s Intimate Collection…I already have Dove and Gemma. 🙂 If you want to get Dove for a really good price, Buzz Beauty’s blog sale is still going on and she has Dove available for just $4!

Oh yea…question. My Seche Vite is getting SO thick and goopey. I’m not even halfway through the bottle yet and I don’t want to throw it out. I’ve heard this is a common problem with Seche Vite, so I was wondering if anyone had any solutions?

You could add a little nail polish thinner into your Seche Vite. But, I would stop using it if i were you! I heard from another blog that extended use of Seche Vite can actually lead to birth defects:( Not to scare you or anything! i just wouldn’t keep using it♥

I wouldn’t worry about the birth defects thing. Unless you’re inhaling it or using it in a poorly ventilated room it’s not something to worry about. It has to do with the stricter regulations for products produced in California. You might be a little more careful about it if you are pregnant.

I have heard a lot of people with the same complaint with the Seche Vite. I haven’t run into it yet but I am only a quarter of the way into my first bottle. From what I have seen in the beauty forums most are having to throw it away. It’s a big complaint with that brand. I have heard that Essie has a fast dry top coat that gives it competition though!
