nails of the week: essie – “tart deco”

July 31, 2011 by Melanie

This week I’m using a new polish that I just purchased called “Tart Deco” by Essie! This color was actually a bit brighter than I thought it would be. It looks like more of a pinkish coral in the bottle, but its a bit brighter on my nails and adding the Seche Vite actually turns it more orange (if you have this particular color as well as Seche Vite, you’ll know what I’m talking about lol). I still love it though. Its different than other colors I have, and I think it would be the perfect color for toes in the summer time because it compliments tan skin very well! Next time, I may leave out Seche Vite and use a different top coat so it isn’t as orange.

Now this is the first Essie polish I’ve gotten, and maybe I just need to try out more colors, but I found the formula to be a bit streaky (you can see a little bit of that on my pinky finger). I felt like I had to put thick coats on for it not to be streaky, which means there is a chance of it peeling off later in the week. I’ll have to see I suppose. Have any of you guys found Essie polishes to be a little streaky? I will definitely continue using this pretty color and maybe trying out another polish, but I can’t say I’m sold on the formula! 😕

I love that color! It is really pretty. It’s too bad the formula is streaky. I’ve never tried it though.

That is such a lovely colour! I would deffo need to put some fake tan on before using it though!
